Public Information Officer
Administrative Sergeant Travis Bingham is a 17-year veteran of the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office who is a lifelong citizen of Sublette County and a graduate of Pinedale High School. Sergeant Bingham began his career with the Sublette County Sheriff’s office in August of 2006 as a Detention Deputy and attended the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy in the spring of 2007.
Sergeant Bingham was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2009, then later promoted to Sergeant in July of 2010. Sergeant Bingham has served as the Detention Center Administrative Sergeant since 2012. In 2015, Sergeant Bingham started his service as the Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer. He attended the Advance Public Information Officer training held at FEMA headquarters in Washington, DC in 2018. Sergeant Bingham continues to be responsible for numerous administrative tasks within the Sheriff’s Office. He is responsible for supervising the Sublette County Warrant Team and also serves as a Reserve Communications Officer. In 2019, Sergeant Bingham began the Sublette County Sheriff's Office Drone team which has become a vital tool for our agency helping find lost persons, suspects, damage assessment and crash recreation.
Sergeant Bingham has accumulated over 2000 hours of law enforcement training and possesses a Professional Detention Officer certificate, Advanced Public Information Officer certificate, and Advanced Dispatcher certificate. In addition, Sergeant Bingham holds more than a dozen FEMA National Incident Management System certifications. In the spring of 2019, he attended and graduated from the National Jail Command Leadership Academy hosted by the American Jail Association.
In his spare time, Sergeant Bingham volunteers in the community as a youth sports coach and at the Pinedale Aquatic Center and local 4-H. In February 2020, Sergeant Bingham participated in Jackson in the Wyoming special Olympics torch 4-mile Law Enforcement Torch Run supporting athletes from Wyoming and South Dakota in those winter games. In addition, since 2018 Sergeant Bingham has organized an annual local charity sports event between local Law Enforcement, EMS and Fire services to benefit causes in Sublette County called Battle of The Badges. The first Battle of the badges was in 2018 to assist in recovery to those who lost their homes in the Roosevelt fire, in 2019 the charity benefited Kicking Cancer of Sublette County. After missing 2020 due to COVID-19, Battle of the Badges is back for 2021 and benefiting Deputy Ty Huffman of the SCSO in his cancer battle.
